After Losin’ You.
I woke up this morning,
And I laughed at myself,
It’s the first time I’ve smiled in weeks,
I remembered that night,
When blue stars fell,
To wash your powdered cheeks,
I kept saying goodbye,
Darlin’, please, o’ please don’t cry,
But you kept sayin’ to me,
O’ you kept sayin’ to me,
Why shouldn’t I be crying,
After what you’ve done,
You made me feel like dying,
Just when I felt number one,
O’ why shouldn’t I be crying,
You’d be crying too,
If you felt the way that I did,
After losing you,
You looked so different,
When you tried to smile,
Still hoping that I would stay,
Somehow you knew,
I’d be gone for life,
If I ever went away,
I kept saying goodbye,
Darlin’, please, o’ please don’t cry,
But you kept sayin’ to me,
O’ you kept sayin’ to me,
Why shouldn’t I be crying,
After what you’ve done,
You made me feel like dying,
Just when I felt number one,
O’ why shouldn’t I be crying,
You’d be crying too,
If you felt the way that I did,
After losing you,
I called you up,
Just to say I was wrong,
And soon I’d be coming home,
You said you were tired,
Of the same old song,
And you didn’t mind being alone,
You kept saying goodbye,
Darlin’, please, o’ please don’t cry,
But I kept sayin’ don’t go,
O’ please don’t hang up the phone,
Why shouldn’t I be crying,
After what you’ve done,
You made me feel like dying,
Just when I felt number one,
O’ why shouldn’t I be crying,
You’d be crying too,
If you felt the way that I did,
After losing you.
